Apicultura e o associativismo em Veranópolis, RS: uma análise conceitual

Abstract

Este trabalho tem como objeto de estudo analisar a relação da apicultura e o associativismo na microrregião de Veranópolis, Rio Grande do Sul. Para tanto, inicia com uma breve contextualização histórica do mel no mundo, sua introdução no Brasil e no Rio Grande do Sul, abordando o consumo do mel e possíveis mercados. Logo, descreve o associativismo, com os passos para abertura de uma associação apícola. O estudo prossegue com entrevistas presenciais, abordando a realidade da apicultura e a situação das chamadas “Casas do Mel” em Veranópolis e como os apicultores veem o associativismo apícola. Assim, a presente pesquisa evidenciou um grande potencial produtivo de mel na região, se utilizadas as técnicas e manejos corretos, bem como, a importância das abelhas, não somente para a produção de mel, mas também na melhoria da produtividade de outras culturas agrícolas através da polinização. Outras evidências apontadas nessa pesquisa são as dificuldades nesse setor, as quais vão desde a aquisição de material, processo de certificação, envase, rotulagem, comercialização do mel e qualificação dos envolvidos. E por fim, o estudo aponta que o associativismo é uma saída viável para sanar, senão por completo, em boa parte, as necessidades da apicultura em Veranópolis e região.

This work aims to analyze the relationship between beekeeping and associations in the micro region of Veranópolis, Rio Grande do Sul. To do so, it begins with a brief historical context of honey in the world, its introduction in Brazil and Rio Grande do Sul, approaching the consumption of honey and possible markets. Therefore, it describes associativism, with the steps to open a beekeeping association. The study continues with face-to-face interviews, addressing the reality of beekeeping and the situation of the so-called "Casas do Mel" in Veranópolis and how beekeepers see beekeeping associations. Thus, the present research evidenced a great productive potential of honey in the region, if used the correct techniques and managements, as well as the importance of bees, not only for the production of honey, but also in improving the productivity of other agricultural crops through pollination. Other evidence pointed out in this research are the difficulties in this sector, which range from the acquisition of material, certification process, bottling, labeling, marketing of honey and qualification of those involved. And finally, the study points out that associativism is a viable solution to remedy, if not completely, in large part, the needs of beekeeping in Veranópolis and region.
