Evolução Biológica: uma análise interdisciplinar das concepções de alunos do 3º ano do ensino médio

Abstract

A evolução biológica é de extrema importância para os estudos da biologia pois sua natureza integradora possibilita o entendimento da diversidade dos seres vivos e da interrelação entre as diferentes áreas das ciências da natureza. No entanto, diversas pesquisas apontam que ainda persistem fragilidades relacionadas ao ensino e à aprendizagem dos temas relacionados à evolução biológica, destacando um conjunto de obstáculos que os alunos e professores enfrentam quando se deparam com o tema em sala de aula. Tais fatos têm sido associados à fragmentação do conteúdos, ausência de interação entre conceitos e fenômenos naturais, carência de material didático, dificuldades na compreensão dos conceitos e pouca valorização das i deias prévias dos alunos. Diante dessa realidade, o presente estudo buscou analisar o que os alunos do 3º ano do ensino médio da rede pública de ensino de uma escola localizada em Porto Alegre (Rio Grande do Sul) pensam sobre evolução biológica, tendo como partida a análise das suas concepções sobre o tema, explorando e analisando o caráter interdisciplinar do conteúdo relacionado com evolução das espécies e verificando as possíveis interferências presentes no conceito de evolução biológica. Os resultados encontrados em relação à pesquisa mostram que os alunos identificam os conceitos referentes ao tema, mas a fragmentação e a falta de interdisciplinaridade. no ensino de biologia acabam comprometendo a compreensão e contextualização dos conceitos básicos necessários para o seu entendimento.

Biological evolution is extremely important for the study of biology because its integrative nature enables the understanding of the diversity of living beings and the interrelationship between the different areas of the natural sciences. However, several studies indicate that weaknesses related to the teaching and learning of themes related to biological evolution still persist, highlighting a set of obstacles that students and teachers face when faced with the theme in the classroom. Such facts have been associated with content fragmentation, lack of interaction between concepts and natural phenomena, lack of didactic material, difficulties in understanding the concepts and little appreciation of students' previous ideas. Given this reality, the present study sought to analyze what the students of the 3rd year of High School of the public school system of a school located in Porto Alegre (Rio Grande do Sul) think about biological evolution, starting from the analysis of their conceptions. About the theme, exploring and analyzing the interdisciplinary character of the content related to species evolution and verifying the possible interferences present in the concept of biological evolution. The results found in relation to the research show that the students identify the concepts related to the theme, but the fragmentation and lack of interdisciplinarity in the teaching of biology end up compromising the understanding and contextualization of the basic concepts necessary for their understanding.
